PC FAIR IS BACK IN KOTA KINABALU
Wide choice of products, great bargains and lucky draw prizes for visitors to the 3-day fair at1 Borneo Hypermall
Kota Kinabalu, Friday (March 11, 2011) – From today till Sunday, thousands of folks here in Kota Kinabalu are expected to throng the PC Fair at 1 Borneo Hypermall looking for great bargains and to check out the latest gadgets and wide range of tech hardware and software solutions.
Visitors to the 3-day fair which is organized by the National ICT Association of Malaysia, PIKOM, will also stand a chance to walk away with attractive lucky draw prizes for a minimum purchase of RM100 in a single receipt. The grand prize winner who will be determined in December will take home a RM100,000 special edition Mazda2 1.5 Hatch Back.
PIKOM President Shaifubahrim Saleh said that this year’s PC Fair is special as 2011 is PIKOM’s 25th anniversary and to share this significant milestone with consumers, the association is giving away more than RM300,000 worth of prizes (excluding the Mazda grand prize) at the 1st edition of PC Fair 2011.
“Since the launch of the fair’s 1st edition in February, we have given away lucky draw prizes such as motorcycles, camera, netbook, mobile Bluetooth, iPad and gaming accessories.
“Those who visit our website at http://www.pikom.org.my and register for the fair will also be rewarded with a gift. Registrants will receive a coded SMS (short messaging service) and they just need to present this code at our registration counter to redeem the gift,” Shaifubahrim said at the launch of the PC Fair here today by Datuk Yee Moh Chai, Minister of Resources Development & IT.
According to Shaifu, more than 106 exhibitors are participating in the PC Fair in Kota Kinabalu offering an extensive choice of products including notebooks/netbooks, GPS (Global Positioning System) devices, android-powered smartphones and digital imaging as well as audio and storage devises and wireless broadband services.
This is the 11th time that Kota Kinabalu is hosting the annual PC Fair since 2006.
In addition to Kota Kinabalu, the fair is also being held at three other locations this weekend, ie in Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bharu from March 10 till12, and in Penang from March 11 to 13. The fair will then move to Kuala Lumpur, Batu Pahat, Sg Petani, Kuching and Tawau from April 15 till 17; Sibu, Miri, Sandakan and Seri Manjung from April 22 till 24; Penang from May 6 to 8; Kota Bharu from May 19 to 21 before the 1st edition of the fair concludes in Ipoh from May 20 to 22.
A total of over 645 exhibitors many of which are multinational consumer ICT brands such as Acer, Apple, Asus, Canon, Dell, Epson, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo, LG, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Sony and Toshiba are expected to participate in round 1 of PC Fair.
Round 2 or the 2nd edition of the fair will be held from June till July, while round 3 will take place over a 3-month period from October till December.
The highly popular PC Fair has been held annually since 1995, each time drawing large crowds wherever it’s held. Last year, more than a million visitors thronged the PC Fair which took place twice.
